History calls them turning points. What they were: ordinary acts of refusal, by women who decided the cost of compliance had gotten higher than the cost of truth.

Hours later, Trump bragged that the Navy acted "like pirates" in its blockade of Iranian ports. The Strait of Hormuz remains contested. 2,362 civilians are dead. The declaration is not a fact. It is a press release.

The federal government medically retires combat-injured veterans before 20 years, then docks their retirement pay dollar-for-dollar against their disability compensation. Fifty thousand veterans are affected. The fix has passed the House and has 79 Senate cosponsors. Senate Republican leadership has blocked it twice in the last year.

Women are the fastest-growing population of VA users. The system was not built for them. Five bills addressing the gaps — menopause care, MST training, direct-access gynecology — have not passed. The VA knows what it owes. It has not paid.

The Trump administration is reviewing a rule that would cut SSI benefits for up to 400,000 disabled adults and elderly Americans — not for fraud, not for changed circumstances, but for living with family. The rule treats a bedroom as income. The alternative is institutionalization.
