What the Church Taught You. What the Text Actually Says.

There is a version of scripture most of us were handed — curated, contextualized, interpreted by institutions with a vested interest in particular conclusions. We were handed verses that supported submission and told they were the whole story. We were handed silence as theology and told it was God's design.

It wasn't.

She Creates Love is launching a new series today: Read the Whole Book.

Biweekly through 2026, we'll be taking one passage at a time — the ones used to justify women's silence, women's subordination, women's exclusion from authority and leadership and full humanity — and reading them. The whole passage. The context. The translation history. The gap between what the text says and what the institution taught you it said.

This is not an anti-faith series. It is a pro-reading series. It is built on the conviction that the God of the text is not equivalent to the men who have been interpreting, translating, and institutionalizing it for three thousand years — and that women deserve to know the difference.

The first installment posts today. It will not be gentle. It will be honest.

God didn't say that. Men did.
